Anavon’s Advanced Home Wiring System Offers Single-Source Solution for Today’s Technology-Wise Homeowners
TRAVERSE CITY, August, 2002 — New technology is impacting the way we live but the problem is in most new homes, the wiring is obsolete before the new owner even moves in. This has created the need to upgrade the residential wiring system so that consumers can enjoy today’s latest technologies in their homes. Anavon Communications Advanced Wiring System offers an optimal solution for meeting the needs of today’s “wired home”, offering a structured wiring application that supports multiple phone lines with options for a main telephone line, children’s line, fax and or business line for the home office, high speed Internet connectivity, computer networking to share files, printers and other electronic devices and whole-house digital cable/satellite/video connections.
“In 2000, 200,000 new homes had some type of structured wiring. In 2001, that number more than tripled to 600,000 new homes outfitted with structured wiring with an expected climb this year to double that amount. The need to ‘future proof’ a home is becoming more and more necessary as increasing numbers of consumers choose to bring technologies once reserved for the workplace into their homes,” said Shazad Khan, Anavon’s Sales Manager.
At the heart of Anavon’s Advanced Wiring Solution is the company’s Distribution Panel. The Distribution Panel serves as the central hub from which bundled low-voltage wiring such as Category 5e and RG6 coaxial cable are run to termination points wherever they’re needed. Different modules distribute voice, data, audio and video signals throughout the home. The design of the Distribution Panel easily enables the addition of new components as the connectivity requirements of the home grows.
According to Russ Madsen, Anavon’s President and CEO, Anavon’s Advanced Wiring package only adds a few hundred dollars to the cost of a new home. “The technology is only new to the residential market. We cut our teeth on this type of wiring in commercial construction, where electronic networking and high-speed data connections are necessary. From the commercial side, we just had to bring it down to a residential scale.”
Builder’s benefit by being able to transform their new homes into high tech environments that are future proofed against the risk of obsolescence. “Once builders take the time to get educated about it, they never say it isn’t necessary,” says Russ Madsen “The investment in the new technology adds approximately 2% - 5% increased value to the new home, a comparative bargain when considering other possible upgrades consumers might elect to have installed such as high-end carpeting, appliances or the latest air cleaning gadget” Madsen added.
